Bath Cabinet Maker and Furniture Designer
An experienced craftsman and cabinet maker, Robert Armitage has been creating high quality bespoke furniture in Bath and the surrounding area for more than 20 years. His good reputation has been established by listening and paying attention to his customer's individual needs and incorporating solutions into the designs of the furniture he produces.

Bespoke Furniture
All of the furniture featured on this website was designed by Robert to the customer's specific requirements and created in his small Melksham based workshop.

Emphasis on Quality
Robert believes in simplicity of design and durability of materials to produce a product that is built to last.
All of the doors on the items of furniture featured on this website have been hung on butt hinges recessed and screwed into hardwood in the traditional way. All the Drawers on the Furniture are Dovetail Jointed out of Solid Hardwood. Every effort has been made to use materials, products and finishes that will not become obsolete over time so that even if accidentally damaged there is little reason why the product cannot be easily restored to its original condition. Rigidity of structure and sturdy installation are as much a priority for Robert as aesthetic appearance.

Traditional and Contemporary
Wherever appropriate, solid woods and traditional materials are used; however Robert is not prejudiced against contemporary materials if they are better suited to the purpose. Robert is a keen user of 'Acrylic Stone', a waterproof manmade composite material with the appearance of marble or granite (examples of which are Corian and LG Hi-Macs) which can be polished, shaped and seamlessly jointed to make stunning curved worksurfaces in the kitchen or elsewhere.

Computer Aided Design
Most projects involve an initial discussion, and drafting of design drawings. Through the use of Computer Aided Design it is possible to explore many options, refine and further refine the plans before the project is commissioned.

Priced Examples Throughout
Although realistically priced, high quality bespoke furniture need not carry the prohibitive price tag often associated with it. This is something that Robert hopes to convey by the use of priced examples throughout this website.

How to use this Bespoke Furniture site

This website contains 42 priced example pages of bespoke fitted furniture and each of those pages has several subsidiary pages containing enlargements of the photographs and still photos from the slide show animations (click on a photo for its enlargement).

To cycle through each of the priced example pages and view all of them just click the priced example button (above left) and keep clicking the "Next" button on each page.
Clicking on the titled buttons, 'Fitted Wardrobes' for example, will take you to the beginning of Fitted Wardrobes on the cycle, but keeping clicking the "Next" button will still take you through all the pages.

On the lower left you will see an alphabetically ordered list (interspersed with photographs) of all the search terms you may have used to land on this site. Clicking on these will take you directly to the relevant page for that search term however not necessarily to the beginning of the category you were searching for. For example if you are searching for 'Oak Fitted Wardrobes' the Oak Fitted Wardrobes link on the lower left will take you to the Oak Fitted Wardrobes page, but Oak Fitted Wardrobes is not the first page in the Fitted Wardrobes category. So clicking the 'Next' button will lead you away from Fitted Wardrobes before you have necessarily seen all of them.
