This Bespoke Hand Painted Office was designed to function as a Study / Library with ample bookshelf space, accommodating over 700 books, for the study room of a house in Melksham.
The Solid European Oak Desktop has a Bull-nose moulding on the top and bottom which curves around the 'L' shape of the room and has a wide working area between the filing cabinet and the cupboards below.
The Shelves of the Bookshelves are of the rigid and very strong 'Box Section' construction and start on the left hand side of the window with three wall hung shelves and then continue on the right hand side of the window, around the corner and all along the right hand wall above the oak worktop. There are also two further extra wide box section shelves below the oak worktop on the right hand wall making a total of approximately 14.7 meters of bookshelf space. The shelves are 233 mm deep.
The Filing Cabinet has three Solid Tulipwood Dovetail Jointed Drawers which run on heavy duty filing cabinet drawer runners. The Bottom drawer has notches for the stainless steel file hanger rails in two positions.
The Cupboards below the Oak worktop each contain an adjustable height / removable shelf.
Although as a standard most of Robert's furniture is painted in Farrow and Ball colours this is not compulsory and in this case the Bookshelves and Furniture are finished in Crown's 'Soft Khaki'.
