This hand painted Bespoke Home Office / Library was designed to serve as a duel purpose room, a study and also a guest bedroom, for some clients in Westbury, Wiltshire.
The Bookshelves feature undermounted LED strip lights in an aluminium and plastic casing that is routed into the bottom surface of the of the lowest shelf. The shelves are all of the very rigid "Box Section" construction.
Underneath the worktop are two double filing cabinets and a double door storage cupboard which has been designed to house a computer, with the necessary ventilation coming from two discreetly placed ventilation holes at the back.
The worktop, which is of polished solid oak, curves around the corner in an 'L' shape, following the bookshelves, creating two desk areas, one in the corner and one between the filing cabinet and computer cupboard.
All the drawers of the filing cabinets are dovetail jointed out of solid Tulip wood and run on heavy duty, low friction, soft close drawer runners.
In the knee space of the desk, in the corner under the worktop, there is a low-level shelf specifically made for the computer's peripheral equipment. This can be viewed by clicking on the bottom image of the right-hand column of this page.
In the adjacent corner to the desk space there is a purpose made, full height, wardrobe that also contains pigeon holes for storage of Box Files and other office stationary.
The bookshelves and cupboards are hand painted in Little Green's "Stock 37" and the walls are decorated in Little Green's "Rolling Fog 143".
