Bespoke Church Organ Case
|
|
All of the furniture Robert creates is bespoke but when he was approached to take part in the restoration of this organ case he gladly took the opportunity to be involved in something really unusual
The entire south facing facade of the church organ case, pictured right, was designed* and built by Robert to mirror the style of the existing west facing facade originally constructed in the 1850's. The original west facing facade is pictured at the bottom of the left hand column of this page, click on the image for an enlargement.

- *Based on original drawings by Peter Rouse - Peter Rouse Design - Bath.
- Work was done in conjunction with the restoration of the instrument by Robin J Winn, a Bath based organ builder.
The timber used in the construction of the case is solid American oak stained and polished to match the existing facade.
The Organ Case is situated in The Church of the Holy Ascension, Oddington, south Gloucestershire (near Stow-on-the-Wold).
